Why “Oito”?

Why "Oito" and an octopus as a symbol?

"Oito" means "eight" in Portuguese, and octopuses have eight tentacles. Inspired by this I also selected eight of their habilities that I relate to professionally:

1. Transparency

Occurs in some species. A characteristic that I seek to have with customers from the first service to delivery and support.

2. Flexibility

The octopus is a mollusk (without a skeleton). Thus, it can take different forms and adapt to different types of situations.

3. Commitment

It also has suction cups on its tentacles, and with this the ability to hold on tightly to what it is trying to conquer.

4. Capacity

One of the most intelligent animals, its brain and complex network of neurons make it very adept at solving challenges.

5. Detailed view

With eyes comparable to those of humans in complexity, they perceive details such as color variations, shapes, textures, etc.

6. Colors and Textures

Several species change their skin color and texture to camouflage themselves, looking like electronic screens with rich details!

7. Use of ink

They expel a cloud of ink to dazzle predators' senses. Use of ink is also fundamental in print design.

8. Detachment

Some perform autotomy: amputating a limb that moves as a distraction during the escape. Let go when necessary!

Furthermore, coincidentally (or not), the ideal pH for octopuses (acidity of sea water) is precisely Eight (8)!
